Debunking a Shamanic Myth: Who Is “Allowed” to Walk This Path?
When I first began exploring the path of shamanic work, one of the deepest beliefs I had to unravel was the idea that this way of life — this sacred, earth-rooted wisdom — was only available to people born into it.
I believed that to be a shamanic practitioner, I would need to have been born in the jungles of the Amazon or the mountains of Peru. That I would need to come from a long ancestral lineage of medicine people — deeply devoted, fully immersed, wholly inherited.
And because that wasn’t my story, I thought: Who am I to walk this path?
But what I’ve come to understand — through my own healing, remembering, and reclaiming — is that this work is not owned by one culture, one people, or one place. This is ancient earth wisdom, and it is available to all of us.
Yes, there are beautiful and powerful practitioners who walk with strong ancestral lines and dedicated lineage — and that is something to deeply honour.
And… we all come from the Earth.
We all come from ancestors who, at one time, honoured the land, the sky, the fire, the waters.
We all have the capacity to reconnect with the spirits, with Source, with the great unseen.
Shamanic work is not about performance or pretending — it is about listening. It is about surrender. It is about remembering.
So if this work is calling to you — if you feel the stirring in your bones when you sit with a drumbeat or walk barefoot on the land — I ask you to trust that call.
I implore you to open your heart and let the wisdom of the Earth speak to you.
Because the shaman doesn’t live in some far-off forest.
The shaman lives in your soul.
And the Earth is waiting for you to remember.

A Permission Slip from The Creator & The Creatrix
There comes a time in your journey where you feel the edges of your old self cracking.
When your soul is whispering more, but your conditioning is screaming, wait.
And in those moments, we often search for a sign.
A signal.
A permission slip.
Something that says:
You’re allowed to want what you want.
You’re allowed to outgrow what you’ve known.
You’re allowed to take up space, raise your voice, change direction, walk away, begin again.
And so, here it is.
🌀 A permission slip — not from society.
Not from your family.
Not even from the universe.
But from The Creator & The Creatrix.
The origin of all life.
The breath before the universe.
The source that dreamed galaxies into being and poured stardust into your bones.
You were never meant to ask the world if it was okay to be who you are.
You were designed by life itself to expand. To bloom. To burn down the old and rise.
So here’s your permission slip:
✨ You are allowed to say no.
✨ You are allowed to say yes.
✨ You are allowed to follow your joy.
✨ You are allowed to rest.
✨ You are allowed to build the life you ache for.
✨ You are allowed to choose you.
You don’t need anyone’s permission but your own.
The Creatrix is within you.
The Creator lives in your cells.
You are not separate from the divine — you are its living expression.
So go ahead. Accept it. Live it. Be it.
