Daily Social Shares: 16th June 2025 - Creativity, Ritual, Intuition & the Path of the Sacred Rebel Within

Earlier today over on my Shamanic Practitioner page @shamanic_practitioner , I shared some reflections about the way that spiritual ritual — when taught in a rigid or fear-based way — can easily slip into old patterns of control and disconnection from self.

It’s a pattern I know well, having walked through my own experiences with obsessive-compulsive tendencies as a child, where superstitions and rituals governed my every move, driven by fear.

And as I felt this rising again within certain teachings I’ve encountered recently, something stirred deep within me:

The Sacred Rebel.
Not the defiant inner teenager. Not the “fight for the sake of fighting.”
But the deep, heart-led knowing that says:

This is not my truth.
I will honour what feels aligned for me.
I will lead myself first and foremost.
This is a fine line to walk. Because the rebel can easily be misunderstood.

But the Sacred Rebel doesn’t fight from ego. She listens to her heart.
She trusts her intuition.
She moves with autonomy, with integrity, and with love.
She discerns. And when something — even a beautiful ritual — doesn’t sit right in her body or her being, she grants herself permission to honour that knowing.

That is what Freedom Rising is all about.

It’s not about rejecting wisdom or dismissing tradition — it’s about filtering all of it through the compass of your own soul.

✨ You are allowed to choose what serves you.
✨ You are allowed to walk your path your way.
✨ You are allowed to listen to your Sacred Rebel — and trust her wisdom.

This is the path I am walking. This is the space I am holding.

I’ve been sitting with something this morning… a thread that’s weaving together parts of my past and my present.

Growing up, I struggled with obsessive-compulsive tendencies — particularly around superstitions.
Don’t walk under a ladder. Don’t break a mirror. Don’t step on three drains. Black cats. Bad luck. Fear.
It ruled my life.

I even had a private ritual that would take over my mind — crossing and uncrossing my fingers while running through a growing list of loved ones to try and prevent bad things from happening. It was exhausting. It was controlling. And it was fear masquerading as safety.

As I’ve walked my spiritual path, I’ve been healing this. Learning to trust my heart. My intuition. Spirit.

But recently, I’ve noticed something…

As I’ve deepened my shamanic work and ritual practices, there’s been a creeping return of that old energy — not from within me, but from the collective field of spiritual teaching.

There are so many rules shared when you start this spiritual path:

You must snuff out a candle — never blow it out.
You must keep this item hidden.
You must bury this object after seven days.
You must not do this… you must always do that…

Because this is what I’ve learned through my own healing:

✨ If ritual is led by fear, it loses its power.
✨ If ritual becomes rigid, it bypasses intuition.
✨ If ritual becomes obsessive, it replaces connection with control.

When I light a candle on my altar, I speak gratitude when I blow it out. That is enough.

When I open to Spirit, I no longer run through an endless list of names out of fear — I trust that those who need to walk with me will.

When I build ritual, I do so from my heart — not from a need to “get it right” or “keep bad things away.”

Because here’s the truth as I see it:
Your heart is the altar.
Your love is the offering.
Your presence is the ritual.

Anything else is just a tool — beautiful, yes. Powerful, yes. But not the source.

Intention over obedience.
Trust over fear.
Heart over habit.
That’s the path I choose.
That’s the path I’ll continue to walk.

The same applies here.

✨ You do not have to use what others say is “right” for creativity.
✨ You do not have to follow the lists or buy the latest trending crystal.
✨ You do not have to copy anyone’s ritual — unless it speaks to your soul.

Let these be invitations — not instructions.

Tools — not rules.

💎 Crystals often used for creativity:

Carnelian — sparks creative life force energy, courage, vitality.
Citrine — brings joy, abundance, confidence to express.
Clear Quartz — amplifies intention, clarity, and inspiration.
Labradorite — activates the imagination, connection to higher guidance.
Amethyst — supports intuition and connection to Spirit.

🌿 Herbs & Incense often used for creativity:

Rosemary — mental clarity, memory, focus, clearing stagnant energy.
Basil — prosperity, attraction, creative flow.
Lavender — relaxation, soothing the nervous system so creativity can arise.
Cinnamon — passion, fire, bold creative expression.
Mugwort — opening the third eye, enhancing dreams and visionary work (use with care & knowledge).

And yet…

The most important guidance is this:
What are YOU drawn to?
What scent lights something up in you?
What crystal do you find yourself holding naturally when you create?
What plant whispers to you when you walk past it?

✨ That is the Muse speaking.
✨ That is the ritual your soul already knows.
✨ That is your Creative Sovereignty.

So today — explore, play, choose what delights you. Trust your own Muse. She knows the way.
