The Sacred Act of Self-Forgiveness

This morning, the medicine of self-forgiveness arrived gently, and then all at once.

In conversations.
In reflections.
Even through the voice of a character named Jen on a show I was watching — reminding me that sometimes the messages we most need are whispered through synchronicity.

And I’m listening.

Because the truth is…
We carry so much.

All the moments we didn’t know better.
The things we wish we’d done differently.
The ways we abandoned ourselves in the name of keeping the peace, or making others comfortable, or surviving.

And yet… we were doing our best with what we had.
With the nervous system we had.
With the awareness we had.
With the safety we felt (or didn’t feel) in that moment.

Self-forgiveness isn’t a checkbox.
It’s a practice.
A remembering.
A gentle hand on your heart saying:
You don’t have to carry this anymore.

You get to meet yourself here, with love.
You get to say, “I forgive you.”
Not to excuse.
Not to bypass.
But to release yourself from the shackles of shame that keep you from your own freedom.

This is Freedom Rising.
Not the kind of freedom you shout from the rooftops —
but the kind that softens you on the inside.
The kind that lets you exhale.
The kind that lets your soul come home to your body again.

So today, I’m walking with the energy of forgiveness.
For the versions of me who didn’t know what I know now.
For the moments I went quiet when I wanted to roar.
For the times I stayed when I wanted to run.
For the ways I tried to hold it all together when I was quietly falling apart.

I forgive her.
I honour her.
And I free her.

Because every time we forgive ourselves,
we rise.

Shadow Work is Sacred Work

The Healing Path is Not Always Pretty

This photo…
It’s from 2021.
A moment captured in the middle of feeling it all.
Grief. Heartache. Overwhelm.
It was one of those days when the weight was just too heavy to carry in silence anymore.

And I remember sitting there and thinking:
I don’t want to hide this part of me.
I want to remember that I held myself through this.
I want to honour the woman in this photo — the one who let herself feel.

This is what we often don’t see when we talk about healing, energy work, spirituality.
We see the smiling faces, the altars, the incense, the light.
But we don’t always see the release, the shadow surfacing, the tears that cleanse like rain after drought.

In the shamanic path, we don’t bypass this.
We walk through it.
We honour it.
We let it rise, and we let it move.

Tears are medicine.
They are the body's way of releasing grief, trauma, unspoken words.
And learning to hold myself in moments like this — with tenderness, without rushing to fix or silence it — that’s been one of the deepest initiations of my healing journey.

Self-forgiveness lives here too.
In the softening.
In the witnessing.
In saying, “You’re safe now. I’ve got you.”
Even when the world feels like it’s crumbling.

If you’re in it right now —
The grief, the mess, the shadow...
Know that there is sacredness in this too.
There is medicine in your tears.
There is healing in your honesty.
There is beauty in your becoming.

You are not broken.
You are being rebirthed.

And this is the work.
Not just light work.
But whole work.

Creativity as a Channel

Let it move through you. Let it move you.

Creativity isn’t always about making something beautiful.
Sometimes, it’s about sitting in the mess — the feeling, the ache, the fog — and giving it somewhere to go.

Paint doesn’t need a purpose.
Words don’t need to rhyme.
The shapes you make don’t need to make sense to anyone but your soul.

This is where the medicine lies.
In allowing what’s within to flow without.
In putting brush or pen or hand to paper not to impress, but to express.
To feel.
To clear.
To connect.

Some of my most healing moments haven’t come from perfectly composed pieces —
They’ve come from letting tears fall onto a sketchbook page.
From scribbling without thought.
From colouring outside the lines on purpose.
From letting the inner chaos spill out, and watching clarity gently rise in its place.

Creative expression is one of the most direct paths I know to the soul.
To the softness.
To the heart.

And soon — I’m so excited to share — I’ll be co-creating a beautiful new session with a fellow Shamanic Practitioner, Ross.
We’re weaving together a ceremony of emotional expression and creative release, with sound healing as the sacred container.
There’s nothing set in stone just yet, but it’s brewing —
And if your heart whispered yes as you read this, I’d love to keep you in the loop as we bring this into form.

Drop me a message or comment if you’d like to hear more when the time comes.
This is for those ready to feel, create, and connect in a whole new way.
