The expert in anything, was once a beginner
“The expert in anything, was once a beginner”
These are words to remind myself that we all start off the same.We all have to go on a journey to hone our craft and there are many, many ways to get to the same destination.I am by no means an expert in my field as a photographer, but I have a speaking gig on Friday evening to talk about my role and life as one.I am so nervous and I have been procrastinating to within an inch of my life when it comes to creating my presentation...... but I am doing it and it will be completed in time. 💪🏼🙏🏻🙈😂Yesterday was the first day of a photography convention I am attending, and I was listening to some of the uk’s (and the worlds) best togs talk about their journey. At first I started to get the hot sweats thinking“Who the hell am I to stand up in front of a bunch of other photographers and tell my story?I’m not anything special. I’m no where near as good as these guys. I should just cancel the whole thing. It’s going to be embarrassing seeing everyone roll their eyes at me and I’ll be able to tell they all think I’m shit”Then as the day went on and we heard from more and more amazing, funny and talented people I checked myself, gave myself a firm talking too and started listening to what they were actually saying. They all started somewhere. They all started off exactly like me. A beginner. No one was born an amazing photographer and they have also been where I am now.It made me determined to do the talk and hopefully inspire someone else who, like me, may be feeling just as worthless and far away from the person they are watching in front of them and I hope I can inspire them to know they too can achieve anything they put their mind too.Who knows, one day maybe I’ll be giving a talk at a convention like this. 🤷🏻♀️😱😍🙏🏻😂
